This site is dedicated to the men of Whiskey Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Divison who served in the Republic of South Vietnam from February, 1966 through March of 1971.Most of the Marines who are pictured here or are mentioned in the annual Newsletters served together together from 1967 through 1969.The purpose of this site is to record the history and stories of this 107mm mortar battery and the fine young men who served during the years out unit served in Vietnam. We supported and helped one another through the separation from our families, our loneliness, our misery and our fear. It has now been forty years since we served together, but when we meet it is as if we saw one another only last week. We continue to offer each other the support and help that each of us needs from time to time. Hopefully this site and our memories can be of help to others.Semper Fi,
David I."Doc" Rupp HM2/USN/VN 9-27-67 to 9-26-68

"You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth, and the amusing thing about it is, that they are."
- Father Kevin Keaney, 1st MarDiv Chaplain, Korean War
